Swiss German is a group of varied German dialects, spoken from behind the Rostigraben in Switzerland. The dialects are so varied that it is hard for some Swiss Germans not being able to understand another. The winner of the hardest to understand dialect is Walliser German dialect, under consensus from other Swiss and other German speaking countries. Swiss Germans funniest and hardest to pronounce word is “Chuchichasli”, (kitchen cupboard, or kuchenkasten in standard High German), and they often make foreigners try to pronounce for their own pleasure.Switzerland is sometimes called ChuchichasliLand, because of it’s favourite word.
A typical difference of Swiss German to other types of German is the guttural “ch”, try pronouncing it properly without spitting and you’re a local.

N: at the end of word & final consonant not pronounced: wein=wii
Ch: a very grated sound much stonger than German ch; also used when pronouncing k’s & g’s that have the ch sound (usually at the end of the word)
Au: changed to uu sound sauber=suubr
R: rolled unlike it is pronounced in German
Eu: forms a double i sound as in schwiiz
S + consonant: always sh sound post becomes posht; if if falls at the end of a word like ist becomes isch
U: becomes like the eu sound in German or the oy in boy
E: in Zurich for example sometimes one can hardly hear the single e hardly pronounced even though it may be still written so Peter sounds Ptr
otherwise forms an ae sound like in German or like air in English gewesen becomes g’waese
Ung: becomes an ig sound rechnung becomes rchnig
E: at the end of a word becomes an i
